H is for Honesty: I can't promise the moon, but I can promise to be honest by:

• listening, discussing, and considering all aspects of a concern or idea.

• letting you know if I don't know the answer or can't tell you the answer because of confidentiality rules.

• responding to all inquiries and requests even if I can't include specific details due to confidentiality rules.

E is for Engagement & Collaboration:

• I will actively seek out opportunities to discuss important topics with the public and garner feedback.

• I will continue to volunteer for local non-profit organizations.

• I will ensure that the county has a presence at community events.

• I will foster a collaborative relationship with city, surrounding counties, state, local churches, non-profit organizations, and schools to create comprehensive emergency management and education programs.

• I will provide opportunities for county staff to get involved with decision-making processes.

A is for Accountability:

• I will own up to any mistakes I might make and work to rectify the situation.

• I will follow through with what I say I will do.

• I will learn from what doesn't work and strive toward better solutions.

• I will ensure that county business is operated according to state law.

T is for Transparency & Communication:

• I will provide all pertinent information and documents according to state law in easy to understand terminology.

• I will offer opportunities to educate the community on the "what" and "why" of county business.

• I will listen to hear and understand what you have to say.

• I will keep the community informed of important information.
